Sydney 2014

While making this years timelapse video of my travels in 2014 I had enough content to make a short video of just the iconic city of Sydney, Australia. This is all shot on my Canon 5D MKIII with either a 24-70mm or 14mm lens. This is spread over 3 months while I was in Sydney.

Sydney Harbour & Cruise Ship Departure

We went to take a timelapse of the sunset of Sydney Harbour with the city and Opera house and bridge in the background, moments after taking the one using the camera slider the cruise ship that had been in the harbour for New Years started leaving and we managed to get another quick timelapse of it leaving. It took about 20 minutes to reverse and depart and we just captured it as it left.

Camera: Canon 5D MkIII
Lens: Canon 14mm f2.8 on slider, and Canon 24-70mm f2.8
Info: First Video is HDR sequence on a slider, and second is just single photos at 4 sec intervals

Shark Bay in Vaucluse, Sydney

This was taken in Shark Bay in Vaucluse, Sydney, unfortunately half way through the camera slipped which is why you see if jump from one scene to the next, I thought I'd include it anyhow as it was a gorgeous sunset.

Camera: Canon 5D MkIII
Lens: Canon 24-70mm f2.8
Info: Each frame is a HDR photo from 5 exposures.

Docklands, Melbourne, Australia

This is another timelapse taken at the docklands in Melbourne, this time taken with my new camera slider which gives it an extra dimension! Hoping to do plenty more of these in the future...

Lens: Canon 14mm f2.8

Flagstaff Gardens, Melbourne, Australia

Sunset at Flagstaff Gardens, Melbourne, Australia - it was a very clear day with virtually no wind, I wanted to try and get the moving shadows moving as the sunset behind the tree.

Camera: Canon 5D MKIII
Lens: Canon 14mm f2.8

Docklands, Melbourne, Australia

This was shot down at the docklands of Melbourne, I set up the camera and started the timelapse at 6.35am to get these awesome looking colours. This was 260 HDR photos overall, and took about 25 minutes

Lens: Canon 14mm f2.8

South Island, New Zealand

Camera: 5D MKII

Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

This timelapse was taken in March 2012 in the Koh Phi Phi Islands in Thailand. This is my first "best" timelapse I managed to take and still one of my favorites, it's over 10 seconds long, the colors were just right, and I managed to reduce the flicker down to an absolute minimum. Oh and the sun came out just in time!
