Sydney is the largest cosmopolitan city in Australia. Its reputation for being one of the most beautiful of all cities is largely attributable to its global influence in the realms of art, culture, fashion, cuisine and design. Sydney houses two of the most iconic structures on earth, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Sydney Opera House features six auditoriums where dance, concerts, opera and theatre are staged with 2,400 events held annually. One-hour guided tours depart half-hourly and provide archival video footage to help tell the story of the iconic building’s construction. Opera Bar is a perfect place to unwind and take-in spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House while sipping on tasty cocktails and enjoying exquisite cuisine. Sydney Harbour Bridge is the world's largest steel arch bridge and includes four different climbs to the top, which are available during the day and at night as well as dawn and twilight.

Described as an oasis within the city, the Royal Botanic Gardens are situated around the water’s edge and feature spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the picturesque garden landscape or stop for a picnic and soak-up the surrounding harbour views. Entrance into the gardens is free.

Animal lovers are in for a treat! Taronga Zoo, a mere 12 minute ferry ride from Circular Quay, contains more than 4,000 different animals and million-dollar harbour views over-looking the city. Taronga Zoo offers many fabulous opportunities to get close to the animals and find out more about how they live through free shows, keeper talks and animal encounters, which include seeing a koala up close, feeding a giraffe, meeting reptiles or booking an owl encounter. A Zoo Pass (adult/child/family $51/25/143) will get you a ferry ride from Circular Quay to and from the zoo, a ride on the Sky Safari cable-car to the main entrance and entry into the zoo.

A trip to Sydney is not complete without witnessing the sand and surf on Bondi Beach. Situated on the east coast, Bondi Beach is your typical beach town, filled with tasty organic food shops, cafes, and a chilled and laid back attitude. Take a surf lesson with Let’s Go Surfing Bondi Surf School or just lounge on the beach and watch the beautiful people stroll past. A visit to some of Sydney’s other beautiful beaches such as Tamarama, Coogee, Cronulla and Manly are definitely worthwhile.

Located only 10 minutes by foot from Sydney’s CBD, Darling Harbour is a lovely harbourside area in the city. Its main attractions include the beautiful and relaxing Chinese Garden of Friendship, the exhilarating 9D Action Cinemas, one of the largest aquariums in the world, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, and acclaimed cruise and charter providers that offer both day and night cruise options.
